HMI mini-conference
On Friday, February 10, 2023 an exciting mini-conference took place at the Hamilton Mathematics Institute TCD (HMI). It is the very first meeting in the HMI new building (16 Westland Row) and speakers are Anton Alekseev (Geneva, Switzerland), Maxim Kontsevich (IHES, France), Andras Szenes (Geneva, Switzerland) and Volker Schomerus (DESY, Germany). Maxim and Volker are members of the HMI Scientific Advisory Board and will participate at the Board meeting this week.

Science for Ukraine
The School of Mathematics and the Hamilton Institute can support a number of research internships for up to one year, in pure mathematics and theoretical and mathematical physics. These positions are open to research graduate students that are currently registered at a university or other third-level institution in Ukraine and who are displaced by the war, providing a stipend at the standard PhD rate in Ireland.

A consortium involving two of our PhD students has prepared an online exhibition about the physics of high-energy scattering.
