Note: Although the list of modules has been updated recently, the regulations that appear below refer to the academic year 2017/18. These regulations will slightly change because of the Trinity Education Project and their updated version will be posted in mid August.

- MA3431 Classical field theory [prerequisite: MA2342] Lecturer: Prof. Sinéad Ryan
- MA3441 Quantum mechanics I [prerequisite: MA2342] Lecturer: Prof. Tristan McLoughlin
- MA3443 Statistical physics I [prerequisite: MA2342] Lecturer: Prof. Manuela Kulaxizi
All modules must be taken. This gives a total of 15 ECTS credits in Maths. Unless indicated otherwise, each module is worth 5 credits.
Hilary term

- MA3442 Quantum mechanics II [prerequisite: MA3441] Lecturer: Prof. Tristan McLoughlin

Students take PY3P03 and either PY3A03 or PY3C01.

- PY3P04 Condensed matter II
- PY3P05 Atomic & nuclear physics
Students take both modules.
Year long Physics modules
PY3TP1 Practical in Theoretical Physics [10 credits]
Students also take PY3TP1 for a total of 30 ECTS credits in Physics.
