Welcome to the Particle Spin Group

We are a research group working on spin and polarisation phenomena in Theoretical Particle Physics and Quantum Field Theory, in the School of Mathematics, Trinity College Dublin. Currently we work in collaboration with the Polarised Antiproton eXperiments (PAX) project in GSI Darmstadt, Germany. Dr. Buttimore also works with the RHIC-Spin collaboration in Brookhaven National Laboratory, New York.

Our Research

We are deriving fully relativistic differential cross section formulae for polarisation transfer in antiproton-electron and antiproton-proton scattering, in both the elastic and electron-positron production cases. Also electromagnetic helicity amplitudes and spin observables have been derived for various reactions.
