Richard M. Timoney
Research Interests
My main research interest was in complex analysis, mainly in several complex variables, but I am working now more in functional analysis including operator algebras, operator spaces and Jordan triples. Some of my recent work concerns elementary operators on C*-algebras.
Publications
A list of my publications can be found here.
A link to a summary of me on Google Scholar. Mathscinet has a different view (and is available to subscribers only).
Analysis seminar
With Chris Boyd of University College Dublin I organise the Analysis Seminar which meets on Tuesdays during term. Details are to be found via our diary of forthcoming seminars.
Further information
- Information about some of my research students is here.
- Here are slides for a talk on Hilbertian JC*-triples as operator spaces given at the Functional Analysis Meeting in Valencia in May 2010.
- Here are slides for a survey talk on elementary operators given at the 3rd International Workshop on Elementary Operators and their Applications (ElOp2009) in Belfast.
- Here are slides for a talk on norms of elementary operators given at the IWOTA conference in Newcastle July 2004 and slides for another talk on elementary operators at a conference in Kent, Ohio, February 2005.
- In August 2004, I was one of the organisers of a conference on Recent Advances in Operator Related Function Theory at TCD. I was on the Scientific Committee for Operator Theory and Operator Algebras in Cork, A Conference in Memory of Gerard J Murphy held at University College Cork, 7-9 May 2008.
- I am also interested in computing as it applies to mathematical work and I was involved in the OpenMath ESPRIT project up to 2000 and in Euromath.
