Diploma (Mathematics)

October 1996

Completion of my diploma thesis as a member of Prof. Werner Müller's Global Analysis group at the University of Bonn

Topic: regularized determinants, Ray-Singer analytic torsion and Quillenmetric, particularly their dependence on the metric ("Analytic Torsion and Critical Metrics")

Together with more recent work the main results are published in two joint papers with Prof. Werner Müller.

Ph.D. (Physics)

September 2000

Ph.D. in theoretical physics in Prof. Werner Nahm's group at the University of Bonn

Topic: Moduli spaces of unitary conformal field theories

The main results can be found in three publications, partly in collaboration with Prof. Werner Nahm and Dr. Sayipjamal Dulat.

Post Doc

2000-2002

Postdoc in Prof. Louise Dolan's group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at UNC Chapel Hill

Organizer of the UNC part of our joint Duke/UNC String Theory Seminar

In my doctoral studies, among other topics I have investigated the embedding of orbifold conformal field theories within the moduli space of theories associated to K3. Afterwards, I generalized these results and applied them in the context of mirror symmetry, click here for more details.
