Q: What is Orienteering?
A: Orienteering is a sport in which you have a
map and compass and you must visit the points on your map in the
specified order. The person who completes the course in the fastest time
is the winner! Many people also orienteer simply as a
way to get out at the weekends.

Q: Who does orienteering?
A: Everyone! At a typical orienteering event you will see all kinds of
people, from every walk of life, all with a similar interest!
There are different courses set out to tailor for each set of peoples
needs.
Q: Where are events held?
A: Everywhere! You will find events being held in places such as the
Trinity campus to the Wicklow mountains.
Q: What equipment will I need?
A: Clothes that are suitable for a walk in the woods (ie tracksuit
trousers, jeans are not advised). If it's wet, bring a raincoat.
A change of clothes for afterwards, something to eat is good too!
If you have a compass and know how to use it, bring it, however it is
not essential.
