Day 16 20/1/2014 It's been a while. As is customary, open this up in a new tab before you begin reading. You can hear running water at the start (as if I am watering my pineapple) and the rest of the song is hopeful (which is good). I've decided to start from the beginning with this since it really has been so long. In March 2012, I came across this post on Reddit. Feeling inspired and wanting to do something meaningful in life, I decided to try to grow my own pineapple. I documented my first pineapple in 1, 2, 3. Unfortunately, things did not go so well. I disappointed many people. I was still very determined though so a few days later, I tried again and wrote about it in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (my favourite post was the last one). Things also did not go so well with that one and not wanting to disappoint people any more, I disappeared from the blogging world. I never gave up though. That year, I tried several more times with no success. In 2013, I tried once near the start of the year and then once more when I got to Cambridge. That was also not a good year. With the end of 2013, I returned to Cambridge. A new year meant new opportunities. I did the same procedure again to accomplish this lifelong goal of mine and some of you may know when I posted this to Facebook. For the other people who were clueless when they saw how a picture of leaves in a glass of water on a nightstand next to a radiator got ~40 likes, hopefully this gives some context. A week later, I posted this. So what is the situation now? Look at the pictures yourself. ![]() ![]() After almost 2 years, this is the furthest I've ever gotten. Ignore the brown around the edges. All that matters is the stuff in the centre which is a lovely green. I've gotten past the hard part and now I simply wait for this to grow and get bigger. I don't want to make this too long so I'll cut off here. It's been a long 2 years. I would like to thank all my friends and family for supporting me through all the dark and difficult times. That's all for now! |
