Our recent publication "Self-assembled clusters of mutually repelling particles in confinement" was chosen as Editor's Suggestion in Physical Review E and is featured in Physics Magazine, a free, online magazine published by the American Physical Society.
Packing problems, which are concerned with optimal arrangements of objects in space, are cross-disciplinary in nature and are encountered in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, and architecture. Such problems form a subject of interest in its own right, providing intriguing intellectual challenges, but are also at the heart of many material properties of condensed matter. This book provides a broad and authoritative overview of current research.
20 specially commissioned art works were on display in the Fitzgerald Library of TCD's School of Physics. They were produced by students at the Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts (RHA).
