Mathematics MA1131
Module MA1131, Advanced Calculus
For
JF Mathematics,
JF TSM Mathematics, and
JF Theoretical Physics
students
Lecturer: Richard M. Timoney
Introduction
A key goal in this module is to introduce the most frequently used parts of calculus, up to multiple integrals, and to develop a familiarity with the most common technques used in calculations.
The approach is therefore quite different from MA1121/MA1122 Analysis, where the major emphasis is on a careful treatment of the theoretical basis for calculus.
Online exercises
There is a partially developed (experimental) facilty for practicing problems online that you may find useful. It works under a web-based (but not public) thing called moodle for which you need a password. See instructions for accessing it. Once you access it you should see something related to module MA1131.
See the Syllabus for more specific information.
