"If I had been swimming the backstroke, I would have quit right away." - swimmer Matt Zelen's promise to his Grandmother after his decision to continue on in his 100m butterfly race when his suit came off diving in.

Various books

I'm a huge fan of Stephen King, so anything by him immediately has me interested. I find it hard to pin down my absolute favourite of anything but I love The Shining, 11/22/63 and of course the Dark Tower series. This series I find impossible to stop - once I finish 'The Dark Tower' I immediately pick up 'The Gunslinger' for more reasons than one. I'll always be a Harry Potter fan and am very much into sci-fi; Isaac Asimov, Larry Niven and Vernor Vinge are some of the great authors I can fit on my bulging shelves. One of my favourite short stories is by Asimov, known as "The Last Question".
Courtesy of Asimov and I, Robot, I will leave the three laws here for future reference when needed:

1. A robot may not injure a human being, or through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.

Interested in a cool survey?

The answer's probably no, but read on!

I'm interested in how mathematicians view the colour of a mathematical object. For example, I always think of groups as green. It's not particularly useful, but I found other people familar with basic mathematical structures also associate some sort of colour with them. This is the link to a form where I am collecting responses to the question "what colour do you associate to this mathematical object?". If you have 2 minutes, please fill it out! When I get some responses I'll post my findings.
