Travel Information
Some information on how to get to TCD.

Dubin is well served by air links from a large
number of airports in the UK, Europe and the US.
Several US carriers serve the US destinations, as
well as the Irish airline Aer Lingus
and many "national" carriers serve Dublin from
Europe and the UK. There are in addition "low
cost" airlines such as RyanAir and BMI Baby.
There are rail and bus links to Dublin also from
almost all parts of Ireland, but locals will know
about that. There are ferries as well from the UK
and France.

parking near TCD, the answer is it is expensive.
Getting to TCD
From Dublin Airport
Dublin Airport is situated to the north of the
City Centre (approximately 10km).
The airport is not served by train so the only way
to get to Trinity College is via bus or taxi.
A taxi will cost approx €20 and takes
about 30 minutes.
Aircoach (website: www.aircoach.ie)
runs 24 hours, every day direct to the city
centre. Tickets can be purchased from the bus
driver and cost €7 single, €12 return. It stops at
the main entrance to Trinity College.
Dublin Bus also run regular buses (Airlink,
route 747) to the city centre, tickets cost
€5 single fare. These buses go every 10 minutes
during daytime and less frequently in the evenings
and on Sundays.
Local buses also go to the city centre
from the airport and cost approximately €1.60,
though may take longer depending on their route.
From Dun Laoghaire ferry port
Stena Line
and Irish
Ferries sail between Dun Laoghaire and
Holyhead in Wales, as well as between Rosslare,
co. Wexford and Fishguard, South Wales and between
Rosslare and France. Dun Laoghaire is 20 minutes
from Dublin city centre by car or by the suburban
train DART.
Pearse station is just next to Trinity College.
From inside Ireland
Bus Éireann operates bus services
between Dublin and the rest of Ireland. Busáras,
the central bus station is located on Amiens
Street.

Trains: Visitors travelling from the
South and West by train will arrive at Heuston
Station, a short hop from the centre by bus, tram
or taxi. Those arriving from the North, North West
and the South East arrive at Connolly Station,
which is a short walk from O'Connell Street. From
the South East (including Rosslare ferry port) you
may also arrive at Pearse Station, which is on
Westland Row next to Trinity College.

Taxis can be hailed or hired at taxi ranks
or booked by telephone. Three of the main taxi ranks
in the city centre are located on O'Connell Street,
Dame Street and St. Stephen's Green
