- Have looked at how numbers are represented computationally(bits, binary,
floating point) and a sample of Mathematica. We will move onto to pre-calculus
next week. Before we do this though, a recap on Mathematica.
- Tutorial questions:
- What is the sum 1+4+7+¼+301 equal to?
- What do we get if we integrate xsinx and then differentiate?
- Find the roots of x4-3x3+2x2+x+8 = 0. Plot it too, what is the
relationship between this and the roots?
- What is (361)8 in binary? and in base 10?
- Express 22/3 in binary.
- The page is not complete yet, but will be by the end of the week.
- Remember if have a problem to sort it out at the end of the class. In
general I prefer to end earlier to have more time to answer questions afterwards.
