MISS ETHEL KENNY (87), of
26 Shrewsbury road, Balls-
bridge, Dublin, died in St. Michael's
Hospital, Dun Laoghaire, on Satur-
day evening after the car in which
she had been travelling had collided
with a lamp standard on the
Merrion road at Booterstown, Co.
Dublin. Her 65-year-old house-
keeper, Miss Margaret Redmond,
was seriously injured in the acci-
dent, but Mr. Frederick Walsh, the
driver of the car, was not badly
hurt.
Miss Kenny, who had lived in
Shrewsbury road for about 15 years,
was a daughter of the late Hon.
Mr. William Kenny, a retired
judge, of Mountfield [sic], Cabinteely.
She had been actively associated
with the Institute of District Nurs-
ing, the Irish Distressed Ladies'
Organisation and the Irish Girl
Guides.
