Gauge theories and moduli spaces form an active research field connecting physics and mathematics. The aim of this workshop is to discuss recent advances in both disciplines. In physics, consideration of a gauge theory on a four-manifold aids the understanding of its phase structure and path integral, while it gives also insights in four-manifold geometry and moduli spaces. On the mathematical side, progress is made recently on the formal definition of Vafa-Witten invariants and Donaldson-Thomas theory of pure dimension one sheaves on complex surfaces using virtual classes. We hope that the workshop will open the way for further progress, and that the lecture program will be of particular interest to young researchers in the field.
