It was with great excitement and joy that I read your reply to my message on genealogy.com look for family from Limerick City.
 
It looks like we have the same Great Grandparents Gerald and Margaret Raleigh.
 
What I have found out so far is:
 
DANIEL RALEIGH. b appox 1820. carpenter, John St. Limerick.
 I have no details of who he married or his siblings.
 
his son was:
GERALD RALEIGH. b apox 1850. carpenter, John St. Limerick.
  no details of siblings.
married 19Feb 1876. St Michaels Limerick
MARGARET RALEIGH. [ WHITE ]. b 1860, Edward St. Limerick.
 father PATRICK WHITE, Edward St. Limerick. he was a Smith.
 she had a sister MARY WHITE, same age they may have been twins ?
 
1901 Census.
 has family living at 16 Donnelly Lane, Ward-Glentworth, Parish- St. Michael.
 under name RAWLEY ?  why not RALEIGH I do not know.

 there is no mention of GERALD RALEIGH, he may have passed away before 1901 ?

6Aug 1904. DANIEL RALEIGH, Carys Rd. married ELIZABETH MAGILL she was know as MARY ?
 
1908. my father was born. DANIEL JOSEPH RALEIGH. 1 Careys Rd. Limerick.
         he always said that he was a seventh generation Raleigh carpenter from Limerick.

My wife, Roslyn, and I have just this week returned from visiting our son Christopher 22yrs old.
Who is living and working in Dublin for the pass 8mths.
