Declan Murphy
During my maths undergrad years,
my interest in music enjoyed increased vitality. I went on to study
music and media technologies
in Dublin, and then music informatics in
Copenhagen,
Pisa,
Genova,
and Aarhus.
Things have been coming full
circle in recent years, as my research activity now combines mathematics and computing with musicology.
Broadly, my research could be said to come under the two areas of:
- mathematical and computational music analysis (more recent),
- tools for composition and performance.
