This is an Indigo clamshell Apple iBook SE Notebook. As part of a "fall" (not by me - i'd never hurt a working Mac) the screen was smashed and keyboard ribbon ripped out. Luckily due to the iBook's incredible strength every other part of the laptop works fine so it is still possible to use it for some of the functions below.

I'd like to have chopped the monitor off altogether, added a wireless keyboard and mouse and slid it under the TV when not in use (like the new Mac mini) but I'm saving for college and need the cash.

Possible Uses

1. As a desktop computer:

Using the included Apple AV cable simply plug into your big screen TV / Monitor or projector to get the full desktop experience. ( a cheap 2nd hand USB keyboard can be used since the cable ribbon for the original one was torn).

2. As a digital hub:

Again using the AV cable you can display all your home movies created in iMovie (digital video camera required) with your friends on your TV. Display your photos onscreen or use it to load up your iPod or create iTunes party mixes with stunning visual effects.

3. As a games platform:

Granted game performance will be nowhere near the quality of modern games consoles it is still possible to find many good games for this machine.

4. As a backup computer or drive:

Simply set the iBook to startup in Target Disk Mode and using a firewire cable connected to a Mac (OS 9 or X) have the iBook's Hard Drive appear onscreen as a removable disk drive. Firewire ensures extremely fast download and upload speeds so you can backup those important archives or video footage / photo / music libraries etc.

5. As a source of spare parts:

I'd really like someone to use it for one of the purposes above but if you want to donate some of its working parts to cure another iBook then you're more than welcome.

Additional Info:

As can be seeen from the photos below the machine boots up and works perfectly and even connects to the internet. Office is installed and the iBook's USB port is working and can be connected to your printer, keyboard or other peripherals. The outer tray covering for the CD-ROM drive had fallen off but I glued it back and it opens and closes as normal.
The Screen and bezel are desroyed and obviously the screen will not close properly. I will include any screws or parts that need to be removed for easy shipping.
