New Journals Related to Mathematics Education

Canadian Journal of Science, Mathematics and Technology Education
The first issue of the Canadian Journal of Science, Mathematics and Technology Education / Revue canadienne de l'enseignement des sciences, des mathématiques et de la technologie has just appeared. CJSMTE proposes a distinctive voice that not only welcomes but celebrates diversity and promotes a fundamental concern for excellence and equity in the fields under its scope. The journal provides an international forum for the publication of articles, written in English or in French, presenting research investigations based on a variety of approaches (experimental, qualitative, ethnographic, historical, philosophical or case study); critical reviews of the literature and materials; policy perspectives; and position papers, curriculum arguments and discussion of issues in teacher education. Through its "Viewpoint" feature, the journal is also a forum for the expression of individual views or position statements that can be provocative, or even controversial, to which readers are invited to respond. CJSMTE is edited by Derek Hodson, Jacques Désautels and Gila Hanna.

    Themes in Education
This multidisciplinary quarterly journal aims at bringing together the communities of Mathematics Educators, Science Educators, Information Technology Educators and Historians and Philosophers of Science & Mathematics with the scope of promoting a deeper understanding of the problems of education in their totality. It is inspired by the belief that the existing fragmentation in research of the various scientific communities cannot meet the complexity of the educational issues emerging at the turn of the century. Every issue of Themes will contain peer reviewed articles of value and interest to educators and researchers, book reviews, conference announcements and news of interest to the thematic research communities of the journal. The scope of the journal is to convey the latest in research reports and critical analyses to both theorists and practitioners. Themes publishes articles in English and Greek. Its associate editors are T. A. Mikropoulos, C. Skordoulis, E. Koleza, A. Katsikis and A. Jimoyiannis, University of Ioannina, Ioannina 45110, Greece.
