There is no official textbook for the course. I will provide lecture notes here. The most recent version is 17.0 from 2018-11-14 14:03:57+00.

Exams
There will be single exam in the new Christmas exam period, worth 90% of your course mark. We are not allowed to announce exam dates and locations on course web pages.
Assignments
Assignments will count for 10% of your course mark. They will be posted here. They will not be distributed in class. They are due at the start of lecture on the day indicated. Solutions will be posted here once the assignment has been corrected.
Due to new College regulations you are technically required to keep corrected assignments for a period of 18 months after you receive them back.

Tutorials
There are no tutorials for this course. I will sometimes take some time out from lecture to discuss a recent assignment or, less often, the current assignment, but usually I will just rely on you reading the posted solutions and paying attention to any hints given in the statement of the problems.
Past Module Webpages
This module is taught in alternate years. Previously it was always the first module of a year long sequence with 3422 in the second semester. This year it is a single module with a mix of content from the old 3421 and 3422. It was last taught by Prof. Richard Timoney in 2016. I last taught it in 2012. The latter is probably closer to the current version, but there will be a number of changes due to the disappearance of 3422.
