How much will it be?
20 euro (needs to be paid when you sign up) + flights (looking like €93.20).

Once you have a guaranteed place, book your flights whenever you'd like. Probably the sooner the cheaper.

What will we do?
Get a tour of CERN and drink, not necessarily in that order.

When can I sign up?
Sign up for CERN will be on the 3rd of November at 8pm in the Joly lecture theatre, Hamilton building!

Only 48 places so make sure to get queueing.

You will be required to show us your Physoc Card and give us your membership number.

You must pay the 20 euro at the sign up to secure a place on the trip. This is non-refundable.

Members will get priority.

We will only get the Joly at 7pm so if you wish to queue earlier than that, we will have a table in the Hamilton.

At 7pm the queue will move from there to the Joly.

Trip Sign-Ups

Sign-up for the CERN trip will take place at 8pm on Thursday the 3rd of November in the Hamilton building. Places are very limited. We tried our absolute best to try and bring more people, but there was only one day CERN could cater for us and we are lucky to even bring 48. We will send an email again a few days before the 3rd to remind people and let you know exact details. We hope to book the MacNeill theatre and sign people up in there.

Also, we are going to Birr in Co.Offaly on Saturday November the 26th. Trinity has a research group working there and Peter Gallagher has kindly offered to send a Post Grad to give us a talk on the grounds of Birr Castle. Dr. Gallagher has also organised a free tour for us of the Kilbeggan Whiskey Distillery on our way back to Dublin on Sunday. We will be leaving early (10/11ish) on Saturday morning and arriving back about 4/5pm on the Sunday morning. We have arranged to stay in a hostel, which we have completely booked out to ourselves. We also hope to bring a telescope(or two) with us and weather permitting do some star gazing at the hostel! It should prove to be a great weekend. Places are limited to 40. Unfortunately, we have been limited by the distinct lack of hostels in the centre of the country!

Sign up for this trip will not take place until the preceding week, on Thursday the 17th of November. Reading week is the week before this, so it is the best day we could do it. Once again, I will email you with more details a few days before the 17th.
