Food
From Mathsoc wiki
Places to get food within walking distance of the Hamilton Building.
Boojum, Millennium Walkway
THE best burrito joint in Dublin. €5 student deal for any main, (€6 with a bottle of water or can). With this year's Trinity Ents card, from 3-5pm Mon-Fri, burritos are €4.
Mains include; burritos, fajitas, three flour or corn tacos & burrito bowls.
It's not as far away as it seems! You can easily get there, eat and get back within an hour (watch out for 1pm lunch queues though).
Fallon & Byrne, Exchequer Street
Huge menu, reasonably priced. Recommendations: Bangers & Mash, Arabian Delight wrap, Chickpea lamb curry. Here
Centra, Westland Row
The taste of Schols. Open late and close to the library. What more could you want? (apart from Apache pizza, obviously)
Apache Pizza
IT'S A NATIVE AMERICAN PIZZA RESTAURANT RUN BY CHINESE PEOPLE. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT? Either on Pearse Street or Dame Street, the Pearse Street one is nicer and closer. Not worth it without vouchers - these can be obtained from postboxes inside apartment blocks further down Pearse Street late at night. The Vegetarian pizza is by far the best (surprisingly). Everything about this place is amazing. I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you're tired of Apache pizza, you're tired of life.
Subway, Merrion Square
Four euro footlong subs after 6pm and a free drink with a student card... perfection?
O'Donovan, Pearse Street
Tiny little shop located on Pearse Street opposite JCR, run by a nice old couple. Very good rolls. Amazing sandwiches. Tijuana chicken is a classic. Massive queues at lunchtime. One of the last known outlets of Maccaroon Bars.
Il Caffe de Napoli, Westland Row
Expensive okay food, friendly service if you're not intimidated by Italian people. Wonderful pastries, ciabatta, panini, coffee, pasta, etc. (especially the coffee). Pizza slices are very good again, as are the (overpriced) ham-and-cheese croissants. Avoid if you don't like smelly meats or getting basil leaves stuck between your teeth. Not open past 7? Open later Thursday?
Centra Dame Street
This is where they have the original, classic TWO EURO CHICKEN FILLET BAGUETTES with two salads of your choice. Cheese is not a salad admittedly but they have not compromised from their principles and also offer two euro breakfast rolls. Eat here.
Science Gallery, Pearse St.
Fridays from 5pm there's a tapas menu: 3 items + glass of wine/bottle of beer for €5 (I think). Tapas menu by di Napoli.
Bagel place, Lincoln Place exit
Expensive okay food + smoothies.
The Lombard, on Pearse Dart Station corner
Very expensive pubbish lunch food
Lunch!, by Mahaffies
Expensive, okay, some people think they use cheap cheese. Not so hot since they moved all their hot catering staff down to their other branch. Boo.
Pearse St Library Cafe
Nice place, if you can find it.
Cornucopia, Wicklow St.
Moderately expensive, ok/good food. Veggie, if that's a turn off, though.
McCabe's Deli
- Distance: 10 minutes
- Location: Opposite side of Trinity on street parallel to D'Olier street, around the corner from Garda station.
- Price: Pricey if you go for listed items; cheap if you go for plain sandwiches.
- Quality: Fine
Brewbaker's Cafe
Ok food for ok price. Nice place though & usually quiet. Located on Wine Cellar Street which is perp. to Nassau street (across from Nice Library).
