Maths

  • Terry Tao: Fields Medalist, lots of material, including lecture notes for his courses (each lecture is a new blog post). Pretty cool.
  • Good Maths, Bad Maths: Can sometimes be interesting, covers set theory and other misc. topics. Sometimes he parries with Creationists though, which I personally find dull.
  • Tim Gower's Blog: He's a Fields Medalist so that was initial reason for subscribing. Not much activity but some of the pedagogic posts are interesting. He stated that he intends to take it to a level of just maths soon though so then it'll be too complex no doubt.
  • MathTrek: Haven't read too many of these posts but they're at a nice level and are pretty interesting from what I have read.
  • Get Some!: No blog with this title could be bad, especially if it's by Josh Tobin.

Physics

  • An American Student in England: Blog of a TP in Durham. Some posts are pretty interesting. Looks like he's got a stationery fetish too!
  • Cosmic Variance: Some good posts; haven't been reading it recently though because I hate blogs that are too active (i.e. 1 a day).
  • Quantized Thoughts: A TP from Oxford who gets riled by the Steorn debacle. Some other topics too, but that's what stands out for me.
  • Dispatches From The Future: An overview of the Steorn story.

Misc.

  • Shtetl-Optimized: A theoretical computer scientist who does lots of work on quantum computing and gets riled over the DWave debacle.
