Dublin Quantum Field Theory Seminar

Synge Lecture Theatre School of Mathematics, Hamilton Building Trinity College Dublin Time: 4.15 pm February 17 Jurgen Burzlaff (Mathematical Science, DCU) The slow-motion approximation The slow-motion approximation exploits our knowledge of the families of certain soliton solutions to investigate the dynamics in the case of slow motion. Manton's original idea is explained and Stuart's mathematical underpinning is presented. The implementation of the method for the CP^N model, the Abelian Higgs model and the Gorkov-Eliashberg equations of superconductivity is discussed.
