I now work in the Sun Microsystems, shortly to become part of Oracle.
I currently work in performance analysis, benchmarking and tuning of computer systems. I have previously worked in the areas of network analysis and bandwidth prediction. My postgraduate studies involved high performance computing in the field of large scale network simulation. I'm currently interested in statistical analysis of performance benchmarking results, and using this data to automatically pinpoint code changes that introduce regressions. I maintain a seperate a blog for work related topics.
Previous jobs include Trinity Centre for High Performance Computing and Corvil. I spent six months in New York working for IBM's BlueGene/L supercomputer team, on a project to optimise task allocation on the BlueGene/L torus shaped internal network.
Recently I entered the Netflix Prize, an open competition to develop a machine learning algorithm for predicting how people will rate movies. I have a write up about it.
