Hi everyone,

As much as it pains me to do this, based on all the advice we've received today we've come to the conclusion that the only possible course of action is to postpone this weekends trip to Lahinch.
All the roads have been blocked and it is highly unlikely we would get cars, let alone a bus with a trailer full of boats to the hostel tonight. Even if we did, its possible with all the rain forcast over the weekend that we could end up stranded.
We considered alternative locations but finally decided the best plan would be to find a date in the near future when we can make it down to Lahinch and for this weekend (since we couldn't let all those good costumes go to waste) we'll be having an epic costume pub crawl across Dublin's fair city in conjunction with UCD.
On Sunday there'll be a river trip as usual...most likely on a new and interesting location.

Hopefully this means the people who weren't able to make it to Lahinch can get out tonight though! And if you want to come along on Sunday (trip open to all standards) then get on the message board or get in touch with Clare.

We didn't make this decision likely. We've been in touch with AA road watch, the guards, people in Lahinch, the hostel, the bus company and even the army. Everyone is advising us to stay put. Guess sometimes these things happen and there isn't really much you can do about it asides from try and make some lemonade from the lemons.
