All about me

I graduated in 1992 from the School of Mathematics in TCD. My interests include mathematics (particularly formal logic,wavelets and topology), reading (particulary Gene Wolfe, William Gibson), art (particularly calligraphy, drawing), computers (C, Unix, Usenet, WWW, C++, Prolog, Perl (There is a WWW page on Perl5,a metaFAQ as well as a manual), Artificial Intelligence, EFI, EFF), Go, Chess, calendars and skepticism.

Music: Blues (mainly prewar, but also Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker & B.B. King), Beethoven, Beatles, U2, R.E.M. - in other words a hodgepodge of music, but I'm allergic to C&W. No, I'm not related to Derek Bell of the Chieftains.
