Short Review: Very very good.
Well, this isn't as good as the previous issue, but that's okay, because there's very few comics I've ever seen that were as good as the previous issue. This is an anti-climactic ending to the story, with Martyn taken care of by an unexpected, if familiar, visitor, and thus leaving Leah in the hands of Tim, more or less. Tim also shows a hint of his great magical potential, in his own particular way.
The greatest thing about this series (and god knows, there's nothing about it in anyway substandard) is the consistent and interesting characterisation: each of the characters is unique to the series, unlike any other, and still each remains true, you never feel as if a line of dialogue is inappropriate or misjudged. John Ney Rieber (and I do keep repeating myself here, but it is a vanishingly rare talent) has made real people in the holes in the story that other writers would have filled with putty to flow into the shapes the story demanded ("Let's have an insecure hero, and a streetwise girlfriend and...") Actually, that's pretty much the only thing wrong with this issue: No Molly. Strictly temporary, I'm sure.
