Sandman Mystery Theatre Annual 1

Story by MattWagner
Art by John Bolton, Guy Davis, Stefan Gaudiano, David Lloyd, Dean Ormston, George Pratt, Alex Ross& Peter Snejbjerg

A mugger in Central Park, back when this was uncommon. Wesley Dodds sees him in broad daylight, and that night, the Sandman begins to search for him. The plot isn't as terrible as the regular series, perhaps due to the single-book nature dissuading the writers from telegraphing the answer issues ahead. It is, however, still Batman in long coats, and has no place in Vertigo. The art is better than usual, due to Guy Davis being relegated to only two of the nine chapters. His work, and that of George Pratt, is the worst of those here, and suffers visibly when compared to that of David Lloyd, John Bolton, Alex Ross or Peter Snejbjerg. Worth picking up, if only for the art (Alex Ross! Yaaaay!)
