In this, the first episode of 'The Scorpion', a collection of powerful investors try to persuade Westley Dodds to join with them in financing a foriegn oil refinery depository. However, first one, then another, fall victim to a mysterious bull-whip wielding villian, who leaves the sign of a scorpion behind at the scenes of his crimes. Will Wesley Dodds be next?
Well, that's about it, really. The art isn't much to look, at, the identity of the main villian is blatantly obvious to anyone with two brain cells to rub together, and both of the victims are conveniently presented as possessing unsavoury vices approximately ten panels before the 'main event'. The script is tight enough, and the plot isn't actively bad, but Matt Wagner is writing this instead of Mage II? Blech.
