The impending cancellation of this title (16 is the last issue) will be a
great loss to comics; every issue has been innovative and intelligent,
effortlessly straddling the boundaries between good story-telling and
philosophical discussion. The Date In Hell story-line, of which this is the
third episode, is a exploration of evil relative to good. The Kid and Chelsea
break into an animal experimentation laboratory, visit the Kid's old mentor,
and confront the Devil again. At the end, the Kid decides to go in search of
his parents and, ultimately, his identity. And that, folks, will be the end of
one of the most thought-provoking and, I'm proud to say, groovy series I've ever
read.
