Short Review: More foreshadowing than plot, but still worth it.
Paul Jenkins's run on this book still hasn't caught properly. There's a lot of storytelling ability, and a few good cameo roles, but no bite, no sense of what's really going on. John Constantine's been claimed by hell due to a loophole in devilry laws, and this issue has him call in a favour with an associate of the last creature he gave a favour to. This gives a strong sense of over all plot to the story, but it looks, at least from this end, to be the same John - nearly - goes - to - hell thing. It may be that I'm judging by Delano, who did very good stories of this type, and Ennis, who didn't, but it seems a very familiar path to travel.
