This is one of the two middle issues in a very slow-moving story, the price of which is all the more surprising for the length. Salai starts plotting against the Maestro, using as an unwilling ally the court dwarf of Leonardo's new patron,. Isabella d'Este. Very interesting, although it shows the Mona Lisa turning up several years too early.
