Vigilante: City Lights, Prairie Justice 1

Story by James Robinson
Art by Tony Salmons

DC, $2.50

Short Review: An off day for James Robinson.

After the first impressions on the art have worn off, I can see that Tony Salmons is not a bad artist per se. The pencils for this issue must have looked wonderful. He is, however, a terrible inker, and the addition of some Big! Primary! colours does nothing for the result. It looks bad all over. Unfortunately, James Robinson's script doesn't exactly sparkle, either. Some old cowboy hero runs around beating the shit out of various 1950's villains of all sorts, amid a trail of bodies on both sides. This looks an issue of the Punisher.
