This title remains, with Violator, one of the few good points of Image. The art is always the first thing one notices in this comic; Sam Kieth has perfected the trick of making a creature look at once cuddly and dangerous, and it is a measure of his skill that the obviously cartoony art at no point distracts from the tense mood of the comic. The actual plot doesn't do much for most of the issue, but the accredited "swell dialogue" man, Bill Messner-Loebs, certainly earns his money; the first page is priceless, and I for one never want to meet a plant with "broccoli's spasms of killing rage". Just wonderful.
