Short Review: Mild parody.
This is the last in the series for now, and the fact that it ends with a whimper instead of a bang seems to show that either the writing is all last-minute stuff, or it was canned. Certainly the plotting's fairly dodgy, just a collection of set-pieces revolving around a mysterious villain's attempt to spike the KillCat Movie. It's the scripting that saves it, and the fact that the book never takes itself too seriously. The gratuitous gueststar this issue is another of those image girls with each thigh thicker than her waist, and the letterpage is filled with apologies for the previous issue, which apparently stank on several plot points. Back when the Deadly Duo started, it was above average. Now, it's about average. In a year's time, who can tell whether there'll be much left to parody?
