Superman Vs Aliens 2 (of 3)

Story by Dan Jurgens
Art by Dan Jurgens& Kevin Nowlan

DC/Dark Horse, $4.95

Short Review: Mmm. Not good.

This series is apparently in DC continuity, which strikes me as, well, mad. It does (re-)introduce Kara, the future Supergirl, into continuity, but also takes another companies characters in as well., Be that as it may, the story itself isn't up to much. Lois, on Lexcorp's space station (and technology like that is surely beyond even Lexcorp's deep pockets, no?) battles the corrupt captain, over what to do about the three ill (and one dead) Kryptonians sent back, while Superman, on Argo City, despite being "almost a normal human" by non-exposure to the sun, successfully battles Aliens hand-to-hand, to preserve his self-imposed ban on killing. Now fist-fighting a hundred aliens doesn't seem the quickest manner of destroying them to me, but this Superman's not much of a thinker. He was, after all, the person who sent the four Kryptonians back to the station, where things are going by the book for corrupt company Vs. innocent bystanders Vs. aliens. It's not the most edifying of reads, nor even the most frightening. Kevin Nowlan's art is nice throughout, although I personally don't like the shape of Superman's head. Oh, and Superman seems to have been reading Bartman's Disjointed dialogs for exhausted superheros.
