Hermes Vs. The Eyeball Kid 3 (of 3)

Story by EddieCampbell
Art by Eddie Campbell& Peter Mullins

I have no idea what in the name of any random deity Eddie Campbell is trying to do here. The Eyeball kid, son of the greek monster Argus, fights the messenger of the gods, Hermes, while spouting dialogue that would make a five-year old look mature. Meanwhile, some character and some other character, with sod all motivation between them, fight to control the threads of fate inside a landscape of extremely naff spirals. And Chryson betrays his companions, all for naught.

The dialogue is terrible, the plot is nonsensical, and if we didn't know otherwise, it'd be very difficult to believe that anyone ever paid Eddie Campbell anything for writing comics. The art is substandard compared to his work on From Hell, but this is reasonable, as this is a monthly series, and From Hell, to put it mildly, isn't. The End of the World is now officially nigh: Dark Horse have produced a comic worse than it's average competitor from Image.
