Short Review: Nice art, shame about everything else.
The Warn-the-kids-off rectangle on the front of this issue reads "For Discriminating Readers", but to be honest, anyone with much discrimination beyond "If I can't understand it, it must be Art" would be better advised to give this one a miss. The art is as nice as anything that Eddie Campbell produces, but the plot (the Eyeball Kid and Hermes fight, while Chryson and the rest of the Evil Society experience difficulties, and Joe Theseus explores the patterns of fate) is uninteresting and the dialogue is some of the worst I've ever seen. The plot is more coherent than the previous issue, as Eddie has decided to stick the other half of the preamble in here as flashbacks, but it doesn't stop the basic problem that none of the characters are more than an inch deep, and we have no reason to like them. Oh yeah, and the dialogue really stinks (Yeah, I know, but I felt I had to emphasise it).
