Grendel Tales: Devil's Choices 4 (of 4)

Story by Darko Macan
Art by Edvin Biukovic

Dark Horse, $2.95

Short Review: Impressively moving.

The final chapter in this story brings the moral home with terrible clarity: Honour kills, and yet honour still calls strongly to some people. Eventually, every man who puts honour before people will be destroyed, and still honour will call to people. The author himself is not immune, giving an impressive death-scene to the last clan chieftain the area will have for some time. In the end, all that is left is people who have lost lovers to the war, waiting, guarding against another one. The art is also great, and a large part of the impact. This is without a doubt the most intense emotional response I've had to a comic since The Dark Knight Returns. Incredible. Go get it.
