Short Review: Gutsy action adventure.
This is the prologue issue of a collection of six literally graphic novels; novellas which were converted to comic form after various other publishing options fell through, and novels full of graphic violence. It's a team book made up of non-superheros, an A-team of amoral mercenaries. This issue shows the job on which the team lost two of its members, and a new one joined, which set the lineup for the following three issues. The stated aim of Mr. Vachss, to show how bad men are made bad in childhood, has been covered before, but with the level of writing quality shown here, it doesn't matter. The covers for the series are by Geof Darrow, and so look great.
