Short Review: Cutified Tank Girl. Not Worth It.
So, after Alan Martin and Jamie Hewlett sold their souls to Hollywood, this is the Comic based on the screenplay of the movie based on the comic. Since this is being written on the other side of the Atlantic from that aforementioned town, and this means the movie hasn't opened here yet, I have no idea how close this is to the movie, and how much Peter Milligan added to the butchery. Obviously, the post-modernism bits (looking at the reader, comments on the number of pages left, clever descriptive bits) are probably his, but I think (hope) we can absolve him of the dumbing down. Andy Pritchett's art is nice looking, but too uniform, and way too cute. This is also a complaint about the characterisation: Booga is way too dumb, there's no sex, zero Rock 'n' Roll, and not enough drugs by far. If you're expecting anything like the other Tank Girl comics, you're out of luck. By itself, though, it's still a piss-poor movie adaptation.
