Short Review: The real stuff.
So, exactly how much is this collection of old Tank Girl serials like unto the movie? Well, if you take the movie, and extract the antisocial bits, the violence and ribaldry, and throw away the rest, then double what you've got, and add a dash of blatant postmodernism, and enough dodgy British references to kill the average American stone dead at twenty paces, and you're set. Hewlett and Martin understand the Importance of the simple things in life. Like Sex, Drugs and Rock 'n' Roll. And Sex and Violence. And Starsky and Hutch. No, waitaminute...
Whatever and however, this is 130 pages of brilliance, with both Hewlett's art and Martin's writing style going absolutely over the place, and ending with a collection of the covers Tank Girl's graced. Whether they're supposed to be detachable is another matter, but hey, you can't have everything.
