"You can never beat me, Crab -- Why don't you give it up?"

"Because, in my own misguided, evil way, I blame you for ze mutation zat has given me zis hideous crustacean head und giant claws -- not to mention making it impossible to change my lab coat!"

A stunning saga of triumph and tragedy - Dark Radioactive Man! Featuring: Drama! Excitement! Fight scenes! Large crustacean robots! And an unfeasibly large issue number!

The story so far: Radioactive Man, in his guise as Claude Kane, millionaire layabout, is called away from a night at the opera to respond to the Superior Squad Signal! After following the signal to the lair of Dr. Crab, he is imprisoned in stasis chambers with the remainder of the superhero team! He shortly breaks out, but steps on the Particle Blaster Control, and absorbs a massive bolt of energy, thus saving the lives of the Squad! After his sidekick and ward, Fallout Boy, takes the body back to team headquarters, the Nefarious Dr. Crab attacks, and has the team at his mercy when the battle is joined by ... Radioactive Man! In a new, darker suit! But is this the same RM that we have come to know and love? Well, you figure it out.

The writing is gloriously silly, and contains as many non-standard thought-ballons as you would expect from the stable of a dangerous subversive as Matt Groening. The art is not quite as good as the script, but what the hell, all these superhero's all look the same, anyway.

"Gosh, look at the Superior Squad. They're all so grim, so downcast as they watch their fallen leader being laid to rest -- each one lost in private reverie, no doubt reflecting their own personal bond with this great hero."

"Lure Lass is so sad -- so solemn! I-I hope she didn't have some kind of a...thing for Radioactive Man!"

"Captain Squid is so sad -- so solemn! I-I hope he didn't have some kind of a...thing for Radioactive Man!"

"This rain is ruining my cloak!"
