Bongo Entertainment, $2.25
Short Review: Surprisingly good.
The Bongo line of comics has in general been in decline since the departure of Steve Vance, the writer who best imitated Matt Groening's outlook on the world. Fortunately, Jamie Angell, on the strength of this issue, seems to have the cynical creativeness of the TV show well in hand, and the ability to throw half a million small ironies around a big old greek tragedy of a story doesn't hurt his work either. Funny stuff. His backup story, a simple caper with Krusty and Mr. Teeny the chimp doesn't have the scope, and is just a fairly funny collection of slapstick gags.
