Short Review: Interesting tale of old and new strangeness.

Damn. I hate missing the first issue of stuff like this, particularly when the summary doesn't contain half of the important stuff. Not that the plot isn't interesting in its own way; The tale of a knife-throwers wife/assistant, stolen from her drunken husband by a besotted dwarf and a man who can change into a fly, interwoven with the husband's childhood and seduction by a magician and his helper, is well told and involving, but the meat lies in the details. Conversations, relationships that alternately spark and miss, and the snippets of sentences from clublife really make the story sing, as does the art, and the wonderful tragic mood. Well worth checking out, if you can get it.
