"There's only so much you can do with Itchy and Scratchy. Once you've skinned a cat and dropped him in acid, that's pretty much it." Matt Groening

The very first crossover within Bongo Comics, the comics line devoted to the offspring of the mind of Matt Groening. Whoopee. And a special gimmick decoder card, which spectacularly fails to work, just like every other secret decoder card in the history of the universe. So, what does the story look like? Pretty good, all things considered. Scratchy decides that working with Itchy is bad for his health, and so quits. Itchy is desolate without him, and sets about spiking each of his jobs, and then tricking him back into his old line of work. At the end, the crossover event happens, with results that will presumably only be seen in When Bongo's Collide 2, Simpsons Comics 6. The slapstick is innovative, and entirely unpleasant in parts, but like the man says, you can only do so much. I wouldn't set down a subscription for this, but any individual issue is definitely worth the money for a quick gorefest.
