Dyke's Delight! 1

Various

This anthology consists of stories told by "Dyke cartoonists, or cartoonists who happen to be Dykes",although the distinction is obviously blurred by the fact that the stories are all about lesbians or lesbian relationships. They are also each single-person efforts, which probably means something.

Auntie Studs: The Early Years, by Kate Charlesworth,
is a beautiful and touching story about growing up in the North of England in the middle of this century.
La La La La Lesbian, by Grizelda Grizlingham,
is a list of what society's ideas of lesbians are, in case you weren't aware (?).
Bitchy Butch, by Roberta Gregory,
is a tale of The World's Angriest Dyke, and although it mainly stays in comedy, any male character is the cause for mindless male-bashing (the first two are a wife-beater and a child-abuser, while the third one s the only one to get the shit kicked out of him)
The Soup Is Made, by Lucy Byatt,
is a well told story of infidelity and love, which is sadly let down by the art, which renders the three main characters at times indistinguishable.
My Girlfriend Dumped Me for a Vampyre, by Jeremy Dennis (?!?),
is a passably drawn tale whose plot, basically, is in the title.
Rip up those Roles, by Leanne Franson,
is a poorly drawn but entertaining tale of love between two girls who look like boys who act like girls. Or something.
Mean Woman Blues, by Carol Moisewitsh,
is a well drawn and written blues song.
