Topps, $2.50
Short Review: Not as good as the show. Still worth a look.
This issue is entitled "The XXX Files", and I might suspect Stefan Petrucha of having a go at the stablemate title at Topps Comics, if he didn't also write the X-files adaptation. The series as a whole tends to go in for breadth of parody, rather than actual depth, so we get a lot of aliens in backgrounds, and sundry other paranormal happenings, all ignored by Duckman in his search for a tape of Alien Porn that will make him famous. By the end, there's several belaboured jokes, but no actual specific parody. It all seems like an average plot, with a lot of jokes (and some of the dialogue is very wry) inserted where they might fit. The art is a good reproduction of the TV series. Not the worst thing available, or even the worst thing Topps put out.
