Death Dealer 1

Story by Glenn Danzig
Art by Simon Bisley

Verotik, $5.95

Short Review: Terrible.

There was a time when Simon Bisley did art like the front cover of this book, and it was grand stuff indeed, all shiny blood and everything. Unfortunately, the front cover of this book is by Frank Frazetta, famous for doing fantasy scenes featuring men killing monsters and women with glow-in-the-dark breasts. The interior art is by Bisley, in his New Style. How his new style is a step forward is a difficult question, looking as it does more like a humanised version of the stuff Carlos Ezquerra has been doing for a long time. Still, it's every artist's prerogative to change, and if Bisley wants to do boring art, then that's his choice. No prizes for guessing what my reaction to more of his work will be. The story, by Glenn Danzig, has all the good humour and lightness of tone you might expect (Trans: It's terrible)
