Short Review: Aargh! My Head's Exploded!
If, as has been previously suggested, this current arc's title, "Minds", has a silent " Game", it seems that Dave Sim has started to play volleyball with our heads, instead of chess. After Cerebus meets his maker last month, and the overturning of one of the basic emotional cornerstones of the series, he now hears Cirin's story from "Dave", and not one that Cirin is happy with. It's another major paradigm shift for the story, and it's obviously Dave playing shock-the-reader. The thing is, it's great reading. There's a fascinating history of Cirinism, a revelation about a previous loose end, and the usual high standard of art, including one of those new lettering tricks that, by themselves, should make Dave Sim world-famous. Go get it.
